CV: Download PDF Bio: Sarah E. Ullman's research focuses on etiological factors in rape victimization incidents to inform the development of rape prevention programs and the effects of rape and other traumatic events on individuals' mental and physical health. The goal of this work is to understand how crime affects adult functioning, so that effective treatment and intervention strategies can be developed. Current projects include a NIAA-funded longitudinal study of the role of social reactions in rape victims' recovery from PTSD and drinking problems, a study of mental health professionals and victim advocates about their experiences working with sexual assault survivors, a project on social reactions to college students' sexual abuse disclosures, and research on barriers to and experiences with seeking help from mental health professionals among sexual assualt survivors. |
